Troop 140 was founded in January 2005 and is located in the Sienna area of Missouri City, TX. Our troop is boy-led because we are strongly committed to the development of a Scout’s leadership skills. It is our troop’s desire for every Scout to develop into an Eagle Scout, and our immediate objective is for each new Scout to achieve First Class rank in their first 12-18 months in the troop. We typically have ~50-60 active Scouts in our Troop
Throughout the school year we meet weekly and generally camp monthly (~10 campouts/year) Camping opportunities include state parks and Scout camps, as well as primitive camping sites. We also enjoy backpacking and canoeing, and other adventures like rock climbing and zip-lining. We have attended summer camp in Texas, Georgia, Arkansas, Colorado, and Wisconsin…just to name a few. In addition we participate in long-term camps (Fall Camp typically over Thanksgiving) and Summer Camp (in the Summer) which both offer great opportunities to work on Scout-First Class requirements as well as Merit Badges. Lastly, we participate regularly (~1-2/year) in Scouting America High Adventure Camps at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Sea Base in Florida, Northern Tier in Minnesota and Canada, and Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.
