Troop 140 was founded in January 2005 and is located in the Sienna area of Missouri City, TX. Our troop is boy-led because we are strongly committed to the development of a Scout’s leadership skills. It is our troop’s desire for every Scout to develop into an Eagle Scout, and our immediate objective is for each new Scout to achieve First Class rank in their first year in the troop.
We meet weekly and generally camp monthly (except August). Camping opportunities include state parks and Scout camps, as well as primitive camping sites. We also enjoy backpacking and canoeing, and other adventures like rock climbing and zip-lining. We have attended summer camp in Texas, Georgia, Arkansas, and Colorado. Winter Camp (December) is usually closer to home and has been in east Texas, central Texas, north of Houston at Camp Strake, and south at Camp Karankawa near West Columbia/Sweeny. We have crews participate in high-adventure activities at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Sea Base in Florida, Northern Tier in Canada, and Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.
