Camping Program Mission

Facilitate an environment where our Scouts can learn / practice / and hone their leadership skills guided by the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. (It’s the work we love to do.) 

How We Build Leaders

We do not tell the Scouts…but the primary purpose for the Troop 140 Camping Program is Character Development & Leadership Training. Typically, adolescent boys do not sign up for that class….but they do sign up to go camping. 

Through Troop 140 Camp Program, your Scout learns the following skills:

• As Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) – your Scout learns to build a plan and delegate responsibilities
• As Patrol Leader (PL) – your Scout learns to organize a team and manage that team
• As Grubmaster (GM) – your Scout learns to plan healthy meals, and shop within a budget
• As Quartermaster (QM) – your Scout learns inventory management and gear maintenance
• All Campers – work on Merit Badges, Rank requirements and practice LNT principles 

We are having fun…but it’s fun with a purpose.
