2019 Sienna Family Campout

WOW!!!  What a great day / evening!  From unloading all of the supplies, all the way through shoveling the remains of the ashes from the flag retirement ceremony into buckets, and feeding our scout campers the ever nutritious Shipley’s donuts for breakfast this morning ……… our troop was all over every aspect of the activity.  It was incredible to see the boys taking ownership of their assignments and performing them with little to no direction.

A heartfelt and sincere thank you to each and every adult and scout volunteer who made our troop fundraising activity an absolute success!!  We prepared 827 hotdogs (only 1 got away before taking the plunge) to feed 350 campers and all of our volunteers.

Tip of the hat to our flag retirement ceremony narrator, Jack O’Nan.  Superb job.  He took a very vanilla ceremony narrative and turned it into a 3 scoop banana split, with chocolate sauce, whip cream and cherries on top.

Great job everyone!!

Webelos Woods – Oct 2019

T140 hosted 9 Arrow-of-Light Webelos and parents for Thunder Wolf District Webelos Woods at Camp Mauritz.  The Troop put on the Webelos Activity of Earth Rocks, a geology-focused elective taught by our own Mr. Piwowar.

T140 ended up winning the Archery shoot-out with Will Vogt and 3 AoL Webelos.  We also took home the biggest prize, Campsite Inspection!  The entrance gate with moveable arm built from poles & lashings sealed the deal.

September Campout – Colorado Bend State Park

The Troop spent two nights along the Colorado River.  Activities includes hikes, a wild cave tour, and swimming in a spring-fed pool.
