Hello Scout families! This weekend is Camporee, a popular and extremely fun campout that all scouts will enjoy! Be on the lookout for photos and videos of your Scouts doing all sorts of activities!
Sea Base is a member of Project Aware and recognized as an NOAA Blue Star Operator. Scuba participants have the opportunity, at their choosing, to participate in special education courses including marine debris education and sharks in peril. Sea Base scuba participants also have the opportunity to participate in fish counts. Data collected is shared with the Reef Environmental Foundation. They attended the Sea Base over spring break and chelped the staff count fish and even managed to pull out an 80-pound lobster trap, and this past weekend managed to finish their conservation project. They also won the SCENE award, a special conservation award that is available from FSB. Here’s a link to learn more about their SCENE Award. https://www.scouting.org/outdoor-programs/conservation-and-environment/national-high-adventure-base-conservation-opportunities/florida-sea-base-conservation-programs/Good job Scouts!
